How to get the most out of your attendance

I am an exhibitor. How to optimize the business value in my attendance during Expo Portugal Print 2022?

1 - Tell all your clients, as well as potential clients, that you are attending the event. The sooner, the better. As the number of visitors to your stand increases, the higher are the chances of closing deals with them.


2 - If you have the chance, invest in a well-designed stand. It is not always the case that the most expensive stands are the most effective and eye-catching ones. Don't forget: less is more! The lighting is essential. Make sure you have a well-lit stand and, whenever possible, carrying your corporation brand on it, visible to everyone.

3 - Avoid exhibiting all of your company's services and products if you don't have room enough for this. It is of paramount importance that your clients may walk freely in your stand so they can interact with the products you are exhibiting. Think about it: when you are buying a brand new car, doesn't the salesperson always invite you to seat inside the car and try it? The sales strategy to use in your stand must be the same one.

4 - Take the most out of the tools and resources which the event's organiser puts at your disposal. These resources are free and are an excellent way of attracting clients to your stand at Expo Portugal Print:

a. Use the provided banners in your e-mail's signature, on your website and on your newsletters;

b. Send invitations to your entire database: current or potential clients. Make sure you send the invitations 1 month before the date of event, so that your clients can plan their trips and, if everything goes well, their investment in your products and services. Send digital invitations by e-mail and printed invitations by regular mail, taking advantage of your sales strengths to reach as many people as possible;

c. Take part in the event's official catalogue. It is well known that visitors keep the catalogue for months after their participation in the event. If your presence is well established and highlighted, the higher are the chances you will be contacted in the near future.

5 - Depending on your stand's area, make sure your staff team can cover all the area within, so they can cater to all visitors individually and provide them with explanations about your products.

6 - Be original. Besides the traditional business card, which will be just one among many other the visitors get during the fair, invest on a merchandising product which sets your apart from other exhibitors, such as: a bag or trolley for catalogues transportation, an original designed bag, etc.

7 - Place a box where the visitors may leave their business cards. In case you are not able to tend to them at a specific time, you won't lose their contacts.

8 - Make sure you have tables and chairs ready and available so you can seat comfortably with your clients to sign contracts and close deals. If possible, offer your clients some water, tea or coffee: it is a treat that goes a long way.

9 - Whenever you exhibit products at a fair it takes many hours of work and sometimes it is just non-stop action.
